Got Wood!

cg580 kit

2 Ubers, 1 train ride and a hire van got me up to Fyne Boat Kits in Cumbria to collect my CG580 CNC kit. It only took six and a half hours which isn't actually too bad. I spent an hour there meeting Phil and some other (non-CG580) builders who were also collecting kits. Phil gave us a tour of their workshops and display room and it was nice to see a part-built PT11 popularised by Leo Sampson Goolden and the Tally Ho project - which was part of my inspiration to build a boat in the first place.

Another 6 and a half hours later I was back home. Unloading the kit was a lot slower than loading it (no forklift truck this end...) but all done by 22:30.

Oh, and that was all on the hottest day of the year so far!

I've also ordered and had delivered the first set of screws. There will be more but I want to gauge what sizes I need. So far I've got 200 x 4x16mm, 1000 x 4x30mm, 150 x 5x45mm and 100 x 5x50mm. All are 316 Stainless Steel countersunk with torx head from Westfield Fasteners.
