Useful Blogs and other Resources

One of the requirements for class certification is that build process be documented by means of a blog. This serves a few purposes - firstly it promotes the class by creating numerous resources online about the class, secondly it makes the project more accessible for other builders and thirdly it gives Don and others who 'certify' the boats an insight into the construction methods (remember, the project launched at the start of Covid so hull inspections were out of the question).

There is a list of construction blogs on the class website however a number of these have either been abandonned or have disappeared. Below is a curated list of blogs that I think might be useful to me (typically - complete or actively-in-progress construction and either in English or on a platform that Google Translate can handle well. There are also non-construction-blog resources such as Youtube Videos that look useful. Some of these are Class Globe 5.80-specific resources but others are more technique-oriented. This is a living list that will be updated as I find more useful things.

  • Hull 05 Looks like this build has stalled but with a reasonably complete hull.
